Understanding Dementia: My Feature on the Fronditha Care Radio Show

14 September 2026

Recently, I found myself in a radio studio talking about dementia instead of my usual day of coughs, colds, and mystery rashes — and honestly, I loved every minute of it. I joined the Fronditha Care radio show for 3XY Radio Hellas (1422AM) for a chat about dementia awareness and I wanted to share it with you here.

Dementia care is something close to my heart, genuinely.

Between my work at the clinic and the aged care education I run through Clinical Instinct, I spend a fair bit of time with families navigating exactly this, so it was a real privilege to bring some of that experience to a wider audience on air.

What We Talked About

In the interview, I covered a range of topics, including:

  • What dementia actually is, and the different types it can take (spoiler: it's not just one thing)
  • Signs of dementia beyond memory loss
  • How to tell normal age-related memory changes apart from changes that need further investigation
  • What families should do, and who to speak to, if they notice changes in an older relative
  • Why early diagnosis makes a genuine difference
  • Tips for communicating with someone living with dementia
  • How the environment can help someone with dementia feel safe and comfortable

Have a Listen

It was a great conversation and one I hope is genuinely useful, especially if you've got an older relative you're keeping half an eye on (or a very close eye on, no judgement). I'd encourage you to give it a listen on 3XY Radio Hellas.

Thank you to Fronditha Care and Odysseas Kripotos for having me on, and for the ongoing chance to support the community, both on air and through the aged care training I run through Clinical Instinct.
